Chin Yen Lin Recital

Fledgling soprano Chin Yen Lin gave a sterling performance in the Chee Tze Hall on 20.4.08 to a packed audience. She started with a number of popular Chinese art songs as a warm up to a more demanding second half of arias, culminating in the climax of the evening: rendition of Offenbach’s Doll Song. Her maturity and artistry belied her age. She has a remarkable good vocal control, and an impressive vocal quality, which augurs well for her to become a coloratura soprano. For encore she presented the ever popular Skating Song and Johann Strauss’s Laughing Song. The outstanding performance of the piano accompanist Mr Peter Ngu Ngok Hua also deserves special mention. Besides having an impeccable technique, he also has an intuitive rapport with Ms Chin.

Ms Chin will soon depart for the States to pursue a degree course in singing, this recital was part of a fund raising campaign towards this purpose. We wish her every success.

陈 妍 琳 女 高 音在 四 月 二 十 日 假 启 智 音 乐 厅 圆 满 的 举 办 了 一 场 独 唱 会. 踊 乐 和 热 情 的 听 众 都 有 口 皆 碑. 一 位 展 翅 待 飞 的 花 腔 女 高 音 诞 生 了. 她 选 了 一 个 相 当 高 难 度 的 节 目 表, 包 刮 中 国 民 歌, 艺 术 歌 曲 和 西 洋 古 典 歌 曲. 终 场 她 以 溜 冰 圆 舞 曲 和 Ｊｏｈａｎｎ Ｓｔｒａｕｓｓ 的 Ｌａｕｇｈｉｎｇ Ｓｏｎｇ 谢幕.
